The large buttons are illuminated and clearly labelled to ensure good legibility. You can save particularly important contacts, such as people to call in case of an emergency, on one of the two repertory keys (A and B). The direct call function is useful if you only want to be able to call one number from the phone. In difficult situations, you can then press any button and the number you have stored will be dialled.

Large font, perfect contrast
It’s easy to lose your place in a phone number, especially when it’s very long. Not with the Gigaset E290, though, since you can configure its large, illuminated, black-and-white display to your preferred contrast ratio to ensure optimum legibility. In jumbo mode, all digits you dial appear extra large. The menu is also extremely easy to navigate, thanks to single-icon mode, in which one symbol is shown per page on the display.

As loud and clear as you need it
With flexibly adjustable volume and a variety of ringtones for incoming calls, you can adapt all the audio functions of the Gigaset E290 to your specific needs. You can adjust the earpiece volume to five different levels, for example and even use the amplifier function to double the volume of the call you are currently making. Whether you have an ear to the handset or are using hands-free mode, you can rely on first-class audio quality and particularly clear voice playback. Hearing aid compatibility and the ability to adjust the frequency range to the caller’s personal hearing ability make using the phone an enjoyable experience for users of all ages.

Easy to install, easy to operate
Using the phone really can be this enjoyable – thanks to the handy features of the Gigaset E290. It starts with the installation experience: Plug-and-play technology makes setting up the phone a breeze – simply unpack, plug in and start talking. Textured surfaces on the side on the handset ensure a secure grip, while the intuitively designed menu makes using the phone even easier. The large phone book can store up to 150 contacts. You can save up to 32 numbers in a blacklist and also specify whether calls from these numbers are blocked entirely or simply indicated using a visual signal (i.e. without ringing). Anonymous calls from withheld numbers can also be handled this way, so you can choose not to be bothered by nuisance callers.

Never miss a thing thanks to the Gigaset E290A with answering machine
Stay up to date even when you’re not at home. With up to 20 minutes of recording time, the built-in digital answering machine offers plenty of space for important messages and stores the recordings reliably, even in the event of a power failure. If you have new messages, this is indicated both on the handset and on the base station. You can also listen to your messages via the handset or – conveniently at the touch of a button – via the base station. If you are not at home for an extended period of time, simply use the remote access option. To configure the answering machine exactly how you want it, you can set the maximum recording length to any amount of time and record your own outgoing message.

Have your phone to hand at all times with additional handsets
We’ve all been there: You’re in the kitchen making something to eat and your phone starts ringing in the living room. Usually it’s not possible to get there in time. ECO DECT for radiation-free calls
Like all Gigaset cordless phones, the models in the E290 series are equipped with environmentally friendly ECO DECT technology. The phones are radiation-free when in standby mode, even when you’re using multiple handsets, provided that the base and all connected handsets support ECO DECT. During a call, the transmission power automatically adapts to the distance between the handset and base. The shorter the distance to the base, the lower the radiation. For maximum DECT range, you can disable ECO DECT mode at any time.
